That experience became foundational when she transitioned into real estate following a personal turning point in the early 2000s. While finishing her master’s degree in adult learning and preparing for a new season as her youngest child entered school, she began to recognize how frequently housing decisions intersected with aging, health changes, and family restructuring.
Early in her real estate career, McCants encountered clients who were being forced to make housing decisions under pressure. Seniors needing to sell due to illness. These experiences led her to pursue specialized certifications, including Certified Senior Advisor and Certified Senior Housing Professional, allowing her to better support both seniors and the sandwich generation caring for them.

One of her personal milestones includes delivering a TEDx Talk at Sam Houston State University, overcoming a long held fear of public speaking to better articulate her mission and approach.
