Victor Allen’s Walking on Air Explores Revolutionary Gravity-Based Propulsion in a Bold New Science Fiction Novel.
A visionary new work of science fiction is capturing the attention of readers who enjoy stories built on real scientific thought and bold imagination. Walking on Air by Victor Allen introduces an extraordinary concept that blends engineering realism with high-stakes adventure, presenting a breakthrough in propulsion that, while fictional, is inspired by concepts that could change the world.
Drawing on his background as an electronic engineer, Victor Allen creates a narrative that feels both inventive and grounded. The story follows a lone innovator who discovers a method of manipulating gravitational forces through a system of charged plates and electromagnetic principles. What begins as a personal experiment quickly evolves into a journey that challenges government authority, global economics, and long-held assumptions about energy and transportation. While the novel is a work of fiction, it draws on real-world scientific concepts to explore a future that is just within reach that, in reality, has not yet come to fruition.
Walking on Air stands out for its ability to present futuristic ideas in a believable and accessible way. Readers are taken step by step through experiments that transform an ordinary vehicle into a silent, powerful craft capable of vertical lift and exceptional speed. The detailed yet clear approach allows readers to appreciate the scientific possibilities behind the fiction, blending bold imagination with realistic engineering.
The novel also examines the social and political implications of a technology that could eliminate pollution, reduce travel costs, and alter the global balance of power. From government intervention to corporate interest, the protagonist faces challenges that reflect the complex relationship between innovation and authority. These themes give the story depth and relevance beyond its adventurous surface.
Major scenes involving modified race cars, high-speed tests, vertical flight, and large-scale aviation trials heighten the excitement and cinematic appeal. The transformation of trains, commercial aircraft, and even Concorde paints a compelling picture of a future in which transportation is cleaner, faster, and more efficient—though readers will understand that this vision remains speculative for now.
Walking on Air is more than a technical exploration. It is a story of determination, courage, and the resilience required to bring new ideas into the world. While the protagonist’s dream of revolutionizing transportation has yet to become reality, it invites readers to consider what might be possible when curiosity and conviction lead the way. It’s a reminder that the future is shaped by the ideas we dare to imagine, even if, for now, some of those ideas remain in the realm of fiction.

About the Author:
Victor Allen was born and raised on a farm in England during the forties and fifties and has always seen himself as a country boy at heart. His love for nature has shaped his outlook on life and continues to influence the way he sees the world.
Today, he observes a very different landscape, one defined by rapid travel, global aviation, and a growing sense of convenience. With modern comforts always within reach, he often reflects on whether this fast-paced world is truly an improvement. He believes the answer is not always clear.
Victor trained as an electronic engineer and spent part of his early career at the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment in Aldermaston, Berkshire. He later founded his own company and then moved to West Virginia, where he lived in the mountains on a forty-four-acre property for four years.
After returning to England, he eventually settled on a farm in Scotland, where he continues to enjoy a quiet rural life with his wife.
