About the Author
Christine Devane is an award-winning children’s author, former second-grade teacher, and devoted animal advocate whose work celebrates empathy, courage, and compassion. A lifelong animal lover, Christine grew up reading stories about animals and collecting lucky elephants brought home by her family. She later became an educator and discovered a love for creating stories that help children feel understood while learning important life lessons. Her first published book, Elephant Beach, was inspired by her own childhood shyness and written to help shy children feel seen. Her second book, Lola and Sophie’s ABC Adventure, was inspired by her beloved dogs, rescue dog Sophie and chihuahua Lola, and introduced the alphabet while encouraging pet adoption. Her books have received Mom’s Choice Awards, a Literary Titan Book Award, and Golden Wizard Book Awards. Christine has also volunteered at MSPCA Boston and remains committed to animal welfare.
