Sharing his perspective on the bar exam in a recent interview, Henry emphasized the importance of sticking to proven study techniques. His strategy included intense, focused study sessions, completing a substantial percentage of the commercial course by July, and utilizing valuable resources like Brainy Bar Box and JD Advising’s topic predictor. In his own words, “I did not deviate from the techniques that had made me successful through law school and I would recommend the same to any future bar examinees. Stick to your guns. My guns were and still are crude, but effective. I simply spend more time than the average person looking at the subject. Find the average and do more. It is very time-consuming and probably not necessary for those who are very intuitive learners, but for those of us who don’t love it at first sight, outworking the competition is a solid option.”

His candid advice for future bar examinees underscores the mental health challenges associated with the rigorous exam preparation., Henry’s commitment to maintaining a strict schedule ensured that he was never alone during the process. Collaborating with classmates at specific times of the week was key for decompression and catching up on weak subjects.  

Henry further highlights the critical role his clerkship played in preparing him for the challenges of practicing personal injury law. According to him, working on every aspect of personal injury suits, from filing petitions to observing depositions and mediations gave him a holistic understanding of the field. Moreover, his ability to shadow different attorneys enriched his knowledge and contributed to the development of his unique approach to personal injury cases.

Growing up in the small Texas town of Wimberley, Henry imbibed a profound sense of community and service. His personal story of rebuilding after a devastating flood in 2015 serves as the foundation for his dedication to serving others. It is this drive that Henry brings to KRW Lawyers, aspiring to change lives and provide unwavering support to clients in need.
